Hi, my name is Aaron Izquierdo and i’m looking to help young athletes in the NJ/NY area reach their goals and maximize their potential! Going from being cut from varsity my junior year, to reaching professional baseball, I’ve learned a lot about how to develop myself as an athlete, both physically and mentally. I’m looking to bring on athletes who are serious about their development and want to reach the next level. Along with playing professional baseball for the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League as a Catcher/First Baseman, I have also competed at the highest level of Division 2 baseball after transferring from the Division 3 level. I combine firsthand experience as a pitcher and hitter with a deep knowledge of performance training, mobility, recovery, and mindset. I know how to break down mechanics, correct energy leaks, and design strength programs that translate directly to velocity, control, and hitting power. Most importantly, I want every player I work with to leave the field better than they came — stronger, faster, more confident, and game-ready.

I have more than 20 years in this business. I am the Director of a non-profit organization. We work with all kinds of young people. We do not reject anyone because of a problem. Young people should first be given the chance to express and protect their own plans, their own thoughts. A young person cannot only be taught baseball, but also talk about their education because they must first study a university degree. Sport is forever, it is temporary, and the principles should always be explained to them.

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

i like the fact that coach pushed me to do my best and he helped me to learn to play the position I play better. coach would focus on one skill until i got it and then move on to something else. he doesnt yell in a mean way. he always encourages me to remember what i learned. i saw definite improvement in myself in catching (thats my position) and hitting but but especially in my confidence.
