Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work with what the student has, meaning I'm not looking to change their swing into the perfect PGA tour swing, we use functional drills to promote skill training, not technique training to get a consistent, repeatable swing that produces results. Guaranteed!!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Multiple & ongoing PGA training sessions, classes & seminars. Certified Golf Instructor, Certified AimPoint Putting Instructor, Certified Club Fitter, Titleist Golf Instructor-Level 1, US Kids Certified, USGTF Certified, Trackman Certified, Boditrak Certified, SwingCatalyst Certified, US Kids Certified, Safe Coach Certified

How did you get started teaching?
I've been a PGA golf merchandise and club rep for years. As a former hockey player and coach for 20 yrs, I found myself more and more interested/addicted to golf and I wanted to get back to coaching/teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds, from beginners to Tour Pro's. From division 1 athletes to those with special needs. I do have specific programs available for Seniors and children as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
For me, it's those special students. The ones where I know I'm getting as much out the lesson as they are. Recently I've had the pleasure of working with a student who suffered a stroke. Prior to the stroke, he was an excellent golfer but now has to re-learn the game all over again in his new form. To say that it was extremely gratifying to work with him would be an understatement, it was a pleasure!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get with someone you like, trust, and want to take advice from. Ask them if they're a coach or a teacher? A coach works with and brings out what the student already has, a teacher tries to impart their knowledge on the student, it makes a big difference. Lastly, if you're not comfortable during the lessons you're never going to practice the feedback that's been given.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their realistic expectations? How much are they really going to practice after the lessons? What frequency will they commit to for lessons?
