Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I introduce new students to the horse by teaching them why horses do what they are doing. I explain to them and demonstrate the concept of riding and balance and why the correct riding position affects the horse. I explain and demonstrate proper form and explain why. I want my students to know why so they can learn how.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been riding, training and showing horses for over forty years. I spent my youth in the N.J. 4H program and was a 4H leader for 12 years after I graduated out of 4H. I am a two time former N.J. State 4H Horse Bowl champion, Former Miss Garden State Paint Horse Club Queen and N.J. Pinto Horse Association Queen representing the state club at the National Competition winning Miss Horse Knowledge and Miss Personal Interview. I have been the instructor for Heads Up Therapeutic Riding in Princeton. I currently teach several special needs students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 for thirty minute private lessons. I also teach the student to groom and saddle/un saddle the horse. I teach ground training along with riding.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching based on the skills I gained from my own personal knowledge.
