About
Ahavah Farm specializes in relationship building between horses and people. Learning how horses ommunicate with each other is central to working and playing with horses successfully. Handling, wrking around hrses safely and riding have equal importance in our program. I learned to ride in Southern Arizona abut 50 years ago and was my self taught by true Western wranglers who understood the language of horses and the importance of partnership.Quick results were not the goal-relaxation, intelligence, and thoughtfulness with the animals was and is the essence of good horsemanship.
Magnificent to see both horses and people establish lines of communication and to pass along information not uually shared with students in traditional riding programs.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with an intro to horse communication and to working with the horses on the ground. Learning to read the horse's physical signals allows students to progress to safe saddling, mounting and riding over time. Lesson packages are 8 sessions long. In that time I expect students to develop independance in working with the horses, either on the ground or riding. Riding is not essential to every student;s program.
