Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After a warm greeting, we talk a few minutes about their desired area to work on and discuss any physical restrictions. The student warms up with a few swings and we begin with a quick ipad video analysis. Then we get to figuring out the best ways to make the shots and the swings we are looking for. My goal is to teach my students in the way that they learn best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 34 years of teaching and playing experience. I was formally educated as a golf professional through the PGA and Nike Golf. More recently I have added golf core training and balance phyiscal support to my professional education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes they are displayed on my website.
How did you get started teaching?
After playing college golf and professionally on tour, my gift skill set grew to be obvious as I have always wanted to be a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
My youngest student currently is 3 and my oldest is 94. Because of the logevity of my teaching career; I have worked with young, millenials, boomers, parents and retired folks. I am able to work with special needs, handicapped, high school, college players and low handicap club champions.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that doesn't teach you to play golf their way, but someone that will teach you according to your build and abilities.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If your going to take a lesson, make sure that you can schedule in some practice time within the next week after the lesson. (you don't want to just waste your money)
