I make the lessons fun and engaging for all students. My yoga teaching style is very slow and personal, not a sweaty vinyasa style that most beginners are familiar with (think Yoga to the People). I aim to teach you skills that you can utilize daily at home, with our weekly lesson checking in and building on that. We will work with healing any specific concerns and building an internal physical and mental strength that will go on to serve your daily life. I have a shared s ... View Profile

My teaching approach: My teaching approach really depends on the student. I don't know what they need until we meet. But some things are across the board. I feel that technical skills are necessary tools for getting you where you want to go. Scales, chord shapes and arpeggios are very important to being able to get around on a guitar. I also like to teach students to apply Indian vocal rhythms (tala) to guitar. My guitar lessons take place in: either your home or my studio Guitar Techniques: Rhythm guitar, Fingerpicking, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Recording and Production, ... Too often piano lessons are spoiled by overemphasis on repetitive exercise and etudes. This approach is antiquated and usually ineffective. In my studio learning and refining music is always the priority. Different tools, such a vocalization and outlining often help my students make vast technical leaps without ever having to spend hours strengthening their fingers. Sometimes an exercise is appropriate, to isolate one difficulty can save time. But music is of the ears, not the hands, so that is always where we begin.  I am Juilliard trained and an experienced performer. I've had extensive study with teachers of different philosophies, an ... View Profile
