My yoga teaching style is very slow and personal, not a sweaty vinyasa style that most beginners are familiar with (think Yoga to the People). I aim to teach you skills that you can utilize daily at home, with our weekly lesson checking in and building on that. We will work with healing any specific concerns and building an internal physical and mental strength that will go on to serve your daily life.

My teaching approach: My teaching approach really depends on the student. I don't know what they need until we meet. But some things are across the board. I feel that technical skills are necessary tools for getting you where you want to go, so I put focus on making sure those are headed in the right direction.
I teach through musical example. I feel that all lessons learned are learned better if they are put into a musical context. Exercises are great and necessary, but it's possible to put those into a song or composition. That way you are always playing music:)
I teach drumset, tabla, frame drums, general percussion, guit

My instruction is based on my lifelong love of music, outstanding professional training and experience and dedication to assisting others develop the music in themselves. See my bio on the Queens College CUNY website (School of Music). See also 'Rate my Professor.'
A teacher of mine once said if you aim for perfection, you get to be pretty darn good. I like to start with a small amount of material that the student can play very well, and use that to refine the basics. By taking a thorough approach (and playing beautiful music), the entire world of piano and music will slowly and surely open up to the pupil.
In my opinion, tone production and rhythm are the major factors that distinguish a great pianist (and make playing the most satisfying), so this is the major focus of our work. I have a very thorough understanding of proper technique and can prescribe exercises that will strengthen one's weakne
