Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We get to know the athlete during a meet and greet to build rapport. Then we do a skills assessment of their game and build a practical plan that helps them achieve their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played the Quarterback position for many years in organized football and in competitive flag football. As a quarterback, I am familiar with the responsibilities of every position on the field - wide receivers, tight ends, defensive backs, running backs, linebackers, offensive and defensive linemen.
In addtion to quarterbacks, we have athletes on staff that have extensive experience playing/coaching every position on the gridiron (offensive/defensive linemen, linebackers, wide-receivers, defensive backs, tight ends, and running backs).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard rate is $50 an hour. Bulk discounts are available.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend of mine created a lessons.com account for me. That is how I got my first clients.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with football players at the Division 1 College Football Subdivision level, Division II College level, High School level, Middle School level, and Pop Warner level.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a great initial session with a young Quarterback who was struggling with the center quarterback snap exchange. We put together a plan to fix this problem and it worked.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have a clear understanding of what you would like to achieve in the game of football. Do you want to play at the next level? Is there a particular skill that you want to improve? Communicate this clearly to any teacher/coach that you hire.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals? How can a teacher/coach help me achieve them?
