I am a retired NYC public school music teacher, with 35 years experience. I teach all ages and abilities. I specialize in prepping students for auditions to Magnet schools, NYC Arts high schools and college auditions. Music lessons are held in my studio on Saturdays in the Ft. My teaching approach: For "absolute beginners" I start with note reading, chord playing, proper fingering, basic music theory, and playing simple songs. Material is presented in a graded fashion so the student's learning is enhanced. For intermediate to advanced students I begin sight reading studies, advanced chord playing, scales, improvisation, theory, ear training and more complex songs.
