Dr. Buchenholz, currently Professor of Music at Columbia University and Hunter College, recently served as Special Projects Coordinator for The Leonard Bernstein Office Inc. and as a Visiting Lecturer at the National University of Ireland Maynooth. My teaching approach: For "absolute beginners" I start with note reading, chord playing, proper fingering, basic music theory, and playing simple songs. Material is presented in a graded fashion so the student's learning is enhanced. For intermediate to advanced students I begin sight reading studies, advanced chord playing, scales, improvisation, theory, ear training and more complex songs.
