About
As a professional dancer I have taught dance and yoga to all ages and levels, having started teaching at a young age and have many years of experience (both teaching and performing). I love to help people find joy in moving and in life and find optimal health and happiness.
I started dancing at the age of 2 1/2, mostly ballet and jazz through college, then started to dabble in hip-hop and tap, then still dancing ballet. I later transitioned to modern dance, studying forms such as Horton, Graham, and later duncan Technique. I have performed professionally and still (besides times of Covid-19) traveled the world dancing the expressive form of Isadora Duncan Dance. I have extensive experience teaching ballet, jazz, creative movement for children, Duncan dance, as well as dance fiteness for adults without dance experience or very little experience.
Yoga and Pilates have been a part of my conditioning as well since childhood, and I am certified in teaching these, or a combination. When teaching, I focus on healthy functional movement, alignment and breath.
In addition to dance, I am also experienced in tutoring/teaching science and math as I have a background in that as well (Degrees in biology and biochemistry).
I also am certified as a nutrition counselor and Health/Wellness coach, and can teach/assist on these things as well (fitness, nutrition, healthy lifestyle, stress management, etc). I currently offer all of these online
I love helping people learn and seeing the joy they find in learning something new and/or in their accomplishments. I love seeing people improve and develop and helping them acheive goals that they've set for themselves.
In dance, I help people acheive the technicality of movement but also love helping them find the freedom of creative expression and finding their own voice, again at any age. This is a wonderful thing to witness - someone finding how to express themselves fully and autentically through a form of movement, and to also become healthier physically at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet with a student, whether experienced, an adult beginner, or child, I explore their goals and desires for achievement. I then assess their level working through simple things at first then advancing to their level. I then create a plan catered to their level and goals.
