What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We always begin with a free Health Consultation to assess clients needs, days/times of training, cost and our onboarding process. After signing up with us these Health Consultations are ongoing and free of charge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our coaches hold advanced degrees/certfications and are accomplished in their fields. We also work together as a team as we find team approaches to Health and Fitness work best.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We always negoiate pricing with our clients as ther are many factors that can influence pricing.
How did you get started teaching?
I hold an MA in Health Education from Columbia University Teachers College and currently am a doctoral student of the same. My research is in Health and Education.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with everyone as we have a loaded coaching staff.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We trained a client that was legally blind and overweight. After taking the client to the grocery store we realized that the labels were not in brail. So we explained to the client what they were eating on the back of the labels. The client ended up loosing 30 lbs. over (3) months!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Most of us are adult learners and there is BIG DIFFERENCE between telling someone what to do and explaining to them why to do what to do. We perform the latter.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Open-ended questions that will allow the student to assess if the coach is interested in helping them or just trying to take your money!
