Nicole Bunyan Squash And Fitness Specialist
About
I am an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and results-driven coach, who enjoys having a few a laughs during a session, but also knows how to buckle down and get work done.
I graduated from Princeton as an All-American, with a degree in Biology, and have since been working as a Strength and Conditioning coach and competing on the professional world squash tour. Over the past two years, I've worked my way up to #59 in the world, while also working as a NASM certified personal trainer in NYC and a squash coach.
My experience as an athlete has enhanced my coaching abilities tremendously. I am truly able to fully understand how my clients and athletes should execute their program in order to guide them along their specific fitness or athletic journey.
I live in Stamford CT, and am currently also accepting online/remote clients. I've found that this method can be a more affordable approach for clients, especially those who are self-motivated and/or who may travel a lot.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before a workout of any sort, I like to do a movement assessment, to ensure there are no serious injuries which needs to be addressed beforehand. In addition to this, I like to get to know my client, and talk about their goals in order to ensure we get started on the right path from the beginning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played squash for 12 years, and have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. At Princeton, I studied Biology, which gave me a solid understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and physiological processes, and moreover, taught me how to problem-solve and time-mange effectively.
Upon graduating, I decided to pursue my passion for health and fitness through personal training, while training for the pro squash tour.
I currently hold a personal training certification through NASM, and am also TRX, Ultimate Sandbag, and CPR/AED certified.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students, ranging from ages 6-75. Some have been completely new to the activity (either squash or training), while some were quite advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a coach that you enjoy working with, who understands your goals, and has an effective plan to get you there.
