About

Course Concept is all about true, quantitative results. The ultimate goal is to transfer the skills learned on the practice facility to the golf course. This seems like what any pro and player would already do, but it is surprising how often this is not the case!

I am Kory Braman, PGA Professional, the face of Course Concept Golf. I have been teaching for many years as a Pro and many more years before turning pro. All of my professional years were spent utilizing the best information that learning science, biomechanics, psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive science have to offer the game of golf. With that said, it's my job to make this complicated game as simple as possible for you. It's also my job to empower you with the knowledge that enables you to independently diagnose your problems with accuracy.

My instruction covers all the necessary (physical) techniques, but I also put a premium on the mental game, an often under-rated area of the game, especially when it comes to instruction. When combining mental game coaching with the technical aspects of the game, the student can improve without the mental debris that causes distraction, blocks, and plateaus.

Let me empower you to be a better golfer today.

*IMPORTANT NOTE*

If you are interested in golf lessons but are more than 20 miles from Akron, Ohio, my option for online/virtual golf lessons will be best for you. There is a discount for online lessons, since we are "face to face" (video call), but not actually in the same room as each other.

So far, all my previous online students have benefitted from my online instruction. If I see that you need work on a more physical matter, like a pivot, then I will refund you for the lesson and help you find a qualified professional in your area.

My pro’s name is Kory, what I liked was he looked at my swing and made the lesson around what I was doing, not what a perfect swing is! Will use him again!!!!

Frequently asked questions

Equipment, physical abilities/limitations, and basic knowledge are all assessed in the first lesson. From there, a lesson plan is decided based on the goals and needs of the student. Generally, every lesson is split 50/50 between the short game and the long game. My methods beyond that point are a representative hybrid of "old school" and "new school," pooling the best of both worlds on my lesson tee.
I attended Eastern Kentucky University for Professional Golf Management and Marketing. This was a four-and-a-half year program, requiring multiple internships under Class A PGA Professionals, dozens of individual certifications through the PGA, and the attendance and completion of required seminars featuring the Nation's best instructors at the time.
For the benefit of the golf student, my lessons are only sold in packages of 1-hour lessons, conducted either weekly or biweekly. (No 30-minute lessons. No 2-Hour Lessons. By special request, lessons can be done at a faster rate, although it is not advised.) 3 Lessons = $450 ($150 per) 6 Lessons = $810 ($135 per) 10 Lessons = $1150 ($115 per) ----> Consider the Time of Year With every lesson, you get a personalized literature (in the form of a Google Doc) of the lesson details and the practice prescribed. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE -Applies only to the first 3 Lessons of any package -Based on the statistical and mechanical improvements of your game *Remember that instruction is only as good as the student's ability to practice If you're here to learn, you WILL be happy with my instruction!
Believe it or not, I started teaching golf at the age of 14, usually only helping other junior golfers as a "Junior Pro." That kick-started my journey with the PGA of America. My ambitions came from the instructional incompetence of the many coaches I had in my early years. My priorities changed from playing well to coaching well so I could fill the void of *Excellent* golf instruction in my area.
My student base has varied heavily when it comes to skill levels and demographics. These days, just over 50% of my students are women within a wide age range. I only teach students over the age of 13, but special requests are possible. I teach all skill levels, from absolute beginner to advanced ("scratch") golfers, including competitive players.
The slight chaining of the seasons from summer to fall excites me! It's fall golf season! I love fall golf!
Use these guidelines to determine if a Golf Pro is a good one. 1- The Pro SHOWS a love/passion for the game 2- You hit more balls than the Pro does 3- The Pro teaches the *Mental Game* 4- The Pro uses Video Analysis 5- Your short game is assessed All 5 requirements must be met for an instructor to be a fully qualified and adequate MASTER of golf instruction.
Ask yourself what kind of student you have to be to benefit from instruction, whether it's from me or anyone out there. Students are like these 4 tea cups. The1st cup has a hole in the bottom of it. When you pour, the water just goes through that hole with very little retention. The 2nd cup is upside down, representing the refusal of instruction, because the water cannot enter. The 3rd cup has no holes, but has soil in it, meaning the water mixes with the soil, making it very dirty, which represents the way students distort information to fit their well-protected preconceptions. The 4th and final cup is clean, upright, and fully capable of holding the water that's poured into it. The 4th cup is the perfect student. Be the 4th cup.
