About

My horse Dixie and I provide a stress-free, comfortable and fun learning environment for any beginner, advanced-beginner and/or novice rider who wants to learn the fundamentals of English riding.

I have ridden horses since I was an itty-bitty child, however I did not compete until I joined the Otterbein Equestrian Team in 2012. While there I competed on both the hunt seat and dressage teams. When I graduated in 2015 I found my soulmate Dixie and continued to compete in the wonderful sport of dressage until 2018 when we both decided it was time to retire. Now we like to run through the woods, walk around the fields of north-eastern Ohio, and teach other people how fun making friends with a horse can be!

I enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to the art of riding a horse. Many people find horses scary, they don't have to be. I love to show people that they can have fun on horseback and even on the ground with a horse.

Frequently asked questions

When I first meet a student I like to know what their experience level is. If they are brand new to horses, I make sure that they are as comfortable as possible around the horse at all times.

It is important for me to know the students goals and what they hope to gain from lessons with Dixie and I. I want to make sure that we are able to give as much of a fulfilling experience as possible.

I have about 6.5 years of English showing experience, 3 of which while training at Otterbein University, another 2 while I was a working student/groom for a professional dressage rider in Columbus.

I taught in a 2nd-10th grade special education classroom for 3 years and have a wide variety of real world teaching experiences as well!
