About
Golf is a game for everyone that can be enjoyed at any fitness level. Many people get frustrated with how they play, but have never had proper, professional, and caring instruction. Many have taken lessons previously but feel as if it did not benefit them. Others are blessed with natural talent and simply need a little guidance or fine tuning. Whatever the current state of your golf game, there is always room for improvement. I would be honored to help you take your game to new heights!
I have been a golf professional for 30 years. I’ve worked with adults as well as youth, including three years with the wonderful kids on the Lakewood High School golf team. I love to help men and women build confidence in themselves as they learn and put into practice newly acquired skills. By sharing my genuine love of others, my passion for teaching, by promoting the sport, and through age and skill level appropriate instruction, I can help students more thoroughly enjoy the entire golfing experience, and develop a love of this great game for a lifetime.
In 2009, I became a full-time stay-at-home dad and began my own business out of my home, Fairways to Health, which combines my love of golf and physical fitness. I love people and enjoy teaching both adults and youth. I have helped various individuals reach their fitness goals and golfing potential. I hope you will give me the opportunity to help you! Along with the hands-on instruction time, I provide my students with a comprehensive summary of each lesson. These I send via emails. They will include still photos, slow-motion videos, and a restatement of the crucial concepts which were covered during our time together. I do assign homework! Part of it is to review these lessons recaps. I love challenging my students with in-swing dynamic drills that relate to a specific concept we are attempting to implement. I am also an absolute stickler for the pre-swing fundamentals. So, you can expect to receive a complete check-up from head to toe pertaining to everything that takes place prior to setting the club in motion.
My love of golf began at a young age as a caddie at Westwood Country Club. I started a golf program at the Brooklyn Recreation Center to teach adults and youth the fundamentals of golf. I was the manager and golf professional on staff at the Women’s Club Golf Store in Fairview Park for four years, where I assisted women of all ages with club fitting and instruction. I’ve taught at several different driving ranges around Northeast Ohio and also spent time as an assistant golf professional at Quail Ridge, a private country club in Naples Florida. I spent two years as an assistant golf professional at The Pepper Pike Club in Pepper Pike and was also the general manager for Emerald Woods public golf course in Columbia Station. I was also the Junior Varsity Golf Coach at Lakewood High School, where I helped teach high school students the fundamentals of the game, as well as supported them as they participated in area competitions and tournaments. The satisfaction of watching my students improve never grows old. I love that moment when a concept clicks for the very first time with my students. I love when my students reach out to me to tell me that they've accomplished something on the golf course that they had never previously been able to do. That might mean breaking a previously impenetrable scoring barrier, or swinging the driver with greater confidence, or sinking more putts, or, perhaps, holing a pitch or chip shot from off the putting surface.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The initial contact might occur in person or over the phone. I like to get to know my prospective students a little bit before the commencement of any instruction. There is no fee involved for any form of pre-teaching consultation. I travel all over to meet with individuals who are interested in developing their golf game. Together with a new student, deciding on a specific practice facility or course to get together is a very simple process.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual one hour sessions are $40 regardless of the type of lesson. So, whether we focus on chipping and putting, or building the necessary foundation for a full swing with a focus on pre-swing fundamentals, or fine tuning an existing solid golf swing my fees do not vary. For a thirty minute lesson, my rate is $30. I welcome absolute beginners or seasoned golfers. I conduct a basic Golf 101 class where everything from essential pre-swing fundamentals to in-swing dynamic drills are learned. I teach golf etiquette, the rules of the game, provide information about the golf clubs themselves, and stress the importance of course management. For those who desire it, I do give on-course lessons, but as part of the cost for this type of approach, I ask that the student pay for my 9 hole fee. I can meet you at any driving range or course for instruction. Truly, the possibilities for fun and unique lessons with me are almost limitless. Along with the personalized hands on instruction time, I always include a detailed summary of each lesson for my students. These I send to them via email. I will attach swing videos and pictures from the lesson and will provide the most thorough recap you can imagine. I like to keep things simple, but nevertheless I will throw in some additional illuminating commentary. My students love these post lesson summaries. My desire is for my students to improve and gain confidence. Thus, these recaps help my students with recalling specific concepts we've recently worked on together. They allow them to practice properly without me until we meet again.
