Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first find out what the students is trying to achieve and what they desire to get out of the lesson. I video the student and gather other information I may need to diagnose the best course of action for improvement. I explain and show the student what they need to do to improve and then help them through the steps for improvement. All of this is documented on their personal Edufii training space for future, repeated review.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was an instructor at the Mike Bender Golf Academy in Lake Mary Florida before my position as the Director of Instruction at Barrington Golf Club. The MBGA is recoginized by Golf Magaizine as one of the Top 25 Golf Schools in the United States. Before that I wa the Lead Instructor for the Golf Digest Schools at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. I am a member of the PGA since 2000, and certified by numerous golf organizations such as the Tileist Performance Institute and Penn State Universtity Biomechanics of Golf.

How did you get started teaching?
My dad was a golf club professional for 40+ years who played the PGA Tour in the early 60's. He instilled in me a love for the game of golf and a passion for learning all the complexities the game provides.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with literally ever type of student imaginable, young kids and adult beginners to players competing competitively, even on the PGA Tour.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My student Chris expressed her desire to win the Cleveland Women's Golf Association's Championship last summer. We put a plan in place and went to work. Right before the tournament began we played a practice round identifying the best stratedgy for a couple of holes she had trouble playing. I am proud to say she won the tournament!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's true, you get what you pay for... A bad golf lesson will end up costing you a lot more than the money.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The best question you can ask is "how many lessons do you give per week? and do you teach full time?" A busy teacher is good teacher.
