Our on-site professional is Heather Froehlich-Cortell.  Heather is a second generation horse trainer with extensive experience in hunters, jumpers, equitation, dressage and horse health care.  Heather has very successfully shown at Regional ‘A’ rated shows qualifying for nationals 6 consecutive years as a child rider. She has had students attend nationals in children's medals, adult medals,breed association finals, and pony finals.

Heather has trained with a variety of professional trainers including Lynn Cartellone, Jeff Gogul, Farra Phillips-Hillyard, Cindy Foster & Sergio Jeminez, and Mike Rheinheimer.  She has also attended numerous clinics, studying the concepts of George Morris, Susan Harris, Felicitous, Peter Leone, John Roper, Frank Madden, Kyle King, Steve Heinecke, and Chris Wherley.  During 2006 through 2008 she served as the assistant coach for the Bucknell Equestrian Team as well as assistant trainer for Fox View Farm, training horses and riders of all levels under the leadership of Farra Phillips-Hillyard.

 Heather and her staff are an experienced and enthusiastic group dedicated to producing well-rounded, effective and confident equestrians.  Heather and her students attend monthly horse shows and clinics in order to keep current on the latest riding and teaching techniques. She has attained a high skill level of riding and is able to school or reschool the greenest of horses. 

Here at Hunter Vale we teach all ages and levels and will help you reach your specific riding goals while learning invaluable horsemanship skills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We schedule a one on one private lesson to analyze the level of the rider. If I think of a group that would work best then we transition the student into a group setting.

How did you get started teaching?

I am a second-generation horse trainer. My mother was a professional for 35 years. I learned most everything from her, started teaching when I was a teenager. Unprofessional when I was an adult and started my own business in 2004.


What types of students have you worked with?

We work with all types of students starting as young as five years old.
