About
I teach beginner riders in the Dayton area and have been teaching for 7 years here and in the UK. I teach out of Red Fox Equestrian in Clayton and have a number of horses to suit riders of different builds; I can also come to you and your horse.
I have owned, ridden and trained horses for 20 years and am a member of the American Riding Instructors Association, the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship and the British Horse Society.
I teach English riding and am a former exercise rider and hunt groom so I feel it important to teach my students horsemanship skills alongside riding.
Please text, call or email for more information!
I love teaching beginners because I really enjoy watching someone take the first steps from being interested in horses to taking the lead into riding. Sharing my knowledge and creating well-informed horsemen and women who are also skilled riders is a real passion of mine.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with a short tour of the facility so the student has their bearings, we'll then bring the horse from their stall or pasture and I will demonstrate proper handling techniques. We'll move on to grooming and saddling up their horse before heading over to the arena where the first lesson will be on a long line for beginner riders.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been riding and training horses for 20 years and have worked exclusively in the equine industry for the past 7 years. I'm a certified riding instructor and have specialised in therapeutic riding for the past 2 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private lesson (1 hour) $60
Group lesson - 2 or more students (1 hour) $90
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching whilst working at an equine boarding facility in the UK; for the past 2 years I've been working at a therapeutic riding facility and teaching in a Veterans program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of students - my youngest student was 4 and my oldest in his early 60's. I've taught mostly beginner lessons with progression to intermediate.
