About
Katherine began her equestrian journey at the age of five. She took to the horse like fish to water. Training and competing through the USPC ranks she was privileged to work with all around equestrian Midge Overtoom, USDF Bronze Medalist Shelia Wilson, and Jurgen Gohler two time German Olympic Eventing Team Bronze Medalist.
Her training over the past Twenty years has been supplemented by R-judge and USDF Gold medalist Sue Kolstad, USDF Gold Medalist Sue Black, USDF Silver Medalist Jennifer Grant, and IHJA coach competitor and trainer Sarah Oelerich.
Katherine as a gifted communicator has had the opportunity over the past ten years to hone her skills in both training and teaching as she volunteers as Programs Director at Hill Top Equestrian Center offering her expertise to hundreds of horse and rider combinations.
Working with a variety of students from beginners to intermediate she has been able to help create many successful equine partnerships. Her philosophy of helping to create the proper connection between horse and rider has been influenced by the many mounts she has either started or finished under saddle for dressage, jumpers, and hunters. She's convinced that understanding the cooperative needs that exist in the relationship between horse and rider are essential in the quest to help lead and develop harmonious equestrian partnerships.
