How did you get started teaching?
I've always been intrigued by the science of the golf swing. I was fortunate enough to work with some incredible coaches over my career including David Leadbetter, Bob Lohr, Lee Rinker, Larry Rinker, Donny Lee, Larry King, Justin Sheehan, Wendy Doolan and Matt Killen, just to name a few. When I retired from playing professional golf, teaching was a natural transition. I absolutely love being able to share my experience working with my students on their overall game development.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginner to professional.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you fully communicate your goals and expectations so you and your coach are on the same page. If you are unsure about anything your coach is saying, ASK QUESTIONS! Golf is such a mental sport and the last thing you want to have in your mind is uncertainty.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their short, mid and long term goals are, what type of communication they learn most quickly from (visual, verbal, feel) and timeline to achieve your goals.
