I've played the game competitively for 30+ years and have been a golf instructor for 25+ years. I've learned from some of the best growing up, and I will always be a student of the game of golf. Some of my mentors growing up were Jim Flick, Manuel de la Torre, and Babe Lind. I've studied under former top 100 teacher and one of the top teachers in Colorado, Doug Wherry, and one of the best instructors from Iowa now teaching in Colorado, Dustin Miller. I've also, Studied under one of the best-known biomechanics instructors in the country Dr. Richard Olshock. I have also studied two of my favorite instructors that I have yet to meet, Mike Malaska and James Sieckmann, both outstanding instructors and ambassadors of the game of golf. I've spent hours studying the game and 1000s of swings that I genuinely believe my method will improve anyone's game. My goal is to be recognized by my peers as one of the top instructors in the country. Therefore, I promise my quality of training for golfers is top-notch!
My approach is to create a solid foundation, grip, stance, setup, alignment. Once the foundation is reliable, we work on the swing mechanics using the conscious mind to train your subconscious mind. Training your subconscious mind will create a repeatable and reliable swing on the course. I will also give my student(s) drills to work on and off to improve their swing and their mental confidence in their swing. Once we develop a confident repeatable swing, I help you train your mind to trust and to react subconsciously (without thought) using mental pictures on the course to score well. If you swing with confidence and trusting what we have worked on, your success in playing the game of golf becomes fun and rewarding. So let's get working on that swing of yours!
I enjoy improving all aspects of the students game. I take my love and passion for the game and translate that into a teaching method that a beginner to a tour player can understand. I'm not satisfied until I have improved my students game.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, we will do an introductory lesson to make sure the student and instructor is the correct fit for Aaron Ireland Golf Academy. We base our analysis on students willingness to learn, students willingness to accept change, students that are engaged, students that are willing to continue a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Been a competitieve golfer all my life and have been working in the golf business for over thirty years. I have been an active instructor for the past twelve years, but have been teachng the game for over twenty years. I've had some great mentors growing up both that I've mentor with or have followed, including, Babe Lind, Manuel de la Torre, Doug Wherry, Dustin Miller, and Dr. Richard Olshock. Current instructors that I admire greatly which I hope to meet someday, James Sieckmann and Mike Malaska. I've developed my own style from my countless hours of studying the game and studying under my mentors. I firmly beleive that my style can and will improve anyones swing regardless of level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My introductory lesson is $100 for a hour lesson with video analysis, however our pricing changes depending on the season and budget, please visit clients.uschedule.com/aaronirelandgolf for more apprehensive pricing. Once we determine the needs of the student, my prices may vary depending on budget. I try and work within the students budget to come up with the best possible lesson plan for that particular student.
How did you get started teaching?
A good friend of mine during my college days (1993), Rick Burnside, helped me with getting my feet wet at Kennedy Golf Course in Denver, Colorado. I worked there as an Assistant Golf Professional to help pay for College. I had to make a tough decision to whether or not play for the College golf team or get job and try to pay for college on my own. The decision was tough, but since there were no scholorships available for golf at that time I chose being an Assistant Golf Professional. The rest is history!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with beginners to professionals both men and women. I love teaching the game and love seeing my students excitement as they improve.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher not only passionate about the game, but works well with your personality. There has been many times I've turned down potential students that just were not a great fit. I am usually honest up front with them if they would be successful under me. I rather my student feel as if they are getting value out of the lessons and vice versa I want to feel as if I'm not ripping students off. If I feel that they have not improved under me I will refund the students money. I do not like accepting payment for a lessons if the student does not improve at all.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are they willing to change their swing? Most improtantly, the grip, stance and alignment. Most great instructors will look at the grip, setup, and alignment before any swing changes take place. Sometimes, that is the only thing that is holding a student back is poor grip, setup, and alignment. For new students to the game our focuse will be the same, grip, setup, alignement. We build a solid foundation before we start learning to swing the golf club.
