About
Our program is individually based. Each student fills out a needs assessment survey so we can target exactly what they are desiring. Communication is open and encouraged.our horses are treated with respect and as partners. Our focus is on safety, enjoyment and encompasses a wide range of important knowledge and care of horses. We do riding lessons but that is not our only focus. This is a comprehensive program to set you on the right path on your horsemanship journey.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We do a meet and greet! Including an orientation to our program, grounds, rules etc. Then we set up an individual schedule and begin our journey together learning all aspects of horse care and communication along with riding.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a retired USAF officer that worked in education for many years. I have attended as well as presented numerous clinics and educational classes. I have lived with, worked with and studied horse language and behavior for years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I keep my pricing affordable to reach out to everyone!
Lessons at CCH are $35/hour/student
mobile lessons at your home with your horse are $40/hour plus mileage
How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved teaching. As mentioned above I was in the USAF and taught as Staff Development Officer for years. Upon retirement I pursued my passion of working with horses and found a big need to teach a more comprehensive program. I LOVE helping people and horses become more confident through knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children as young as 3 and currently have a student who is 5. Those are my youngest. I also have students ranging from 8 to adult. I have experience working with special needs students also. I can provide numerous references.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently enrolled in an online class offered by master horse behaviotalist Ben Hart on "understanding your horse, donkey, or mules behavior"
I believe education is a lifelong endeavor.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Search for a teacher you will feel comfortable with. A learning environment should provide the acceptance of communication and encourage questions. Interview the instructor and find out if their offered program is what you are searching for. Visit their facility and see how they interact with the horses. Make certain they practice what they preach and teach humane, gentle methods, treating their horses respectfully.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their goals?
Is the offered program what I am looking for?
Does the program have appropriate legal coverage and proper enrollment forms?
