Gallery Farm
About
Gallery Farm offers riding lessons for adults and children (short stirrups group classes for ages 3-7 & private lessons for ages 8 years old and up) year round during the week and on the weekends. The instructor focuses on individual rider's strengths and weknesses. Private lessons are geared precisely for each individual. Unlike group lessons, this format allows the rider to learn at his or her own speed and students are not expected to adjust the group's learning curve. All beginners start out with private lessons on a lunge line (instructor has control of the horse) which maximizes safety and increases the student's ability to learn the riding skills more quickly. At least once a year, students are encouraged to write their goals down on paper so a plan can be designed by the instructor to achieve these goals. Gallery Farm has well trained quality lesson horses that are available for lease on which to practice skills learned in lessons and for use in shows.
Gallery Farm has an active Junior Team which raises funds to allow members to participate in clinics and shows they couldn't normally afford to attend.
The owner and riding instructor, Pamela Byers, has a passion for teaching. She enjoys helping students hone their riding skills and increasing their equestrian knowledge while achieving their riding goals. She stays very busy giving lessons, heading up the Gallery Farm Junior Team, being the Cleveland County 4-H Horse Club Leader, and being involved in several state equestrian organizations along with running clinics and horse shows at Gallery Farm each year. Having grown up with horses, she completed a two year associate's degree in Light Horse Management at the Univeristy of Minnesota Technical College at Waseca (an agricultural branch of the University of MN). After working at large Quarter Horse and Appaloosa show horse facilities in four different mid-western states, she settled in Oklahoma to pursue a degree in Business management at OU. Since 2004 Pamela has worked full time running Gallery Farm and giving lessons. Currently she is focused on furthering her students' riding careers, training horses, and continuing her own equestrian education.
