It is hard to surpass the feeling that I have when seeing a student progress from having no confidence to enjoying who they and to start to play. I give them the tools to discover who they are! I take enormous pleasure on being part of the students' self-reallization, and hence confidence, of each person that crosses my path will inevitably gain.

It works! Our clients get results. And it's fun along the way. Plus, Instead of having a differnet tuition every month because some months have 3 weeks and some 5, you have the same tuition every single month and don't have to worry about paying more for weeks with more lessons. Plus everything you need is included. There's never any surprise or hidden fees. Books? Included Sheet music? Included Practice tracks? Included Performances and Showcases? Included (optional to be a part of but why wouldn't you when performing is what it's all about!) Can't make it to the studio one day for your lesson? No problem. Do an online lesson with your t...

Graduated from SFCM, I teach piano and guitar and always give the first lesson for free to see if we are on the same page. I really only prefer to do 30min lessons if you come to me or have more than one student to make it an hour. I am in the Southeast Portland area and walk/bus everywhere, so I'm only accepting students near the Oak Grove-Happy Valley area.

I am a dedicated professional instructor and musician located on NE 22nd & NE Davis who combines a love of music with a desire to help others who want to achieve their highest musical potential. That passion shows in all I do! Contact me! I would love to discuss what musical training you've already had and your goals--whether they're to turn pro or just enjoy music for the rest of your life. I want to thank all of you who have contacted me and to let you know that I am not taking on any new students at this time....

Perhaps what I most appreciate about Carissa is that she’s not only been a good math tutor, but she gets along amazingly with my 15-year-old-grandson. He can be in a negative space when I pick him up from school, and he clearly perks up when he and Carissa are working together – I hear them laugh together often. There doesn’t seem to be any ‘superiority’ in the relationship although it’s clear that she’s won the respect of my grandson. Other things I also appreciate: she’s been highly reliable; she’s made every effort to accommodate and flex to meet our needs relative to schedules; she’s researched and recommended helpful resources; she’s been responsive when I’ve sent her messages; she’s been good about leeting us know if there a reason she needs to miss a session – and she always tries to make it up; she’s been willing to communicate with my grandson’s math teacher at school; and I should not fail to mention that I think her rates are quite reasonable. Carissa is able to be an effective tutor without standing on formality, and that not the impression I got from other math tutors I initially considered. I truly ENJOY seeing her every week, and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

I began studying guitar with Adrian 3-1/2 years ago after not having played music for 30 years. I have learned more from him in that time that I did previously in 13 years of study. Adrian enjoys teaching and knows how to teach, and has encouraged me to do my best and have confidence. It has truly been one of the best experiences of my life.

Her studio is tidy & has items to assist your singing, like a full length mirror. She is fully dedicated to the student & the hour long lesson seems to fly by so swiftly!
