About

I have been riding and handling horses for about 14 years. I am new to teaching horsemanship to people other than family but I am excited to share the love and joy horses bring to others.

I enjoy working with horses and learning about their quirks that make each horse unique. I also love to see the bonds that form between horse and rider. Horses are animals that perform the best when they fully trust and love the person that they're working with. Watching a person learn to trust and love the horse in return is something beautiful. A horse and rider that have mutual trust, love, and respect is one of the most wonderful things to observe.

Frequently asked questions

I am looking for students who have their own horse. Horses are animals that like to form bonds so I would like to foster the relationship between horse and rider. I will teach horsemanship from basic horse care to riding.

I was very fortunate to have a cousin who was an experienced horsewoman who taught me horsemanship from groundwork, to basic riding, and even beginning jumping. I am confident in my skills to begin teaching beginning horsemanship and as I gain experience plan to expand into intermediate level lessons.

My current rate is $30/HR.

I have been a tennis coach at my local high school for about 4 years. Through my experience as a coach I have found that I enjoy sharing my knowledge and expertise with others and I am now expanding that into teaching horsemanship.

Pick your teacher based upon what your goals are. If you are just starting out and have no clue on what to do then someone like me is perfect. If you already have a goal and a riding discipline you would like to learn then find someone who specializes in that particular field.

First, consider your horse and what it's current training and capabilities are? Second, are you looking to ride for pleasure and recreation or are you looking to compete? Once you are aware of your current situation and what your ultimate goals are then you can make a plan for how to get there.
