I moved to Philadelphia in 1979. Found work at a gym close to where I lived. Knew I was destine to own my own gym.
What types of students have you worked with?
Young, old, fat skinny. I believe if you own a body and want to be healthy for the rest of your life you need to exercise 3 to 4 times a week and eat clean.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The mission of the gym is to teach individuals the importance of exercise and cleaning eating forever. You only get one body so it's important that you take care of it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Some are great, some not so. You need a teacher who is enthusiastic, observant, starts with the basics and motivates you to full fill your goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You need to decide what is important to you and what your goals are. Plus how much time you're willing to commit.
Don't think it's going to be easy, you have to put the work in.
