When a child plays in a band, he or she is a member of a team that works together to make music. It's different than playing solo piano or guitar as each member shares the responsibility. The music is also divided into different parts, so each band member must learn his or her own part, and hold tight to that part as the other parts sometimes support theirs and sometimes diverge.
