About this pro

FIT to FAT to FIT to FAT to FIT AGAIN!!! I absolutely feel your pain!  I have transfored my body and can help you transform yours too!

My personal training method focuses on all areas of life in order to encompass overall wellness.  I aim to help you obtain self awareness to change self destructive behaviors.

I am able to custom design a program to assist in weight loss, muscle gains, strength gains, pain relief, and over all physical function.

I feel it is very hard to put into words your passion and enthusiasm for physical and mental wellness.  As one who has struggled with my weight due to multiple pregnancies and the emotional ups and downs we call life, I can truly say I understand what you are going through.  I enjoy working with people and sharing what I have learned through my own journey.

I will admit, I am not perfect...I too LOVE to eat and some days HATE to exercise.  However, that is part of our human charm.  Imperfection is what makes YOU perfect and what I love is helping you find that happy place.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My first meeting is a general consult that usually takes about 30 minutes and can be done over coffee.  I like to chat with a new client to ensure that we are a fit and I completely understand their goals.  This consult is FREE - once a student decides they want to work with me, I have them complete a new student packet (which includes a medical questionaire) and I get to work designing their individualized program for our next meeting.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Certified Personal Trainer through ACTION, which is a NCCA accredited program (accepted at all fitness facilities)

CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Weight Loss Nutrition Diploma

In addition to these certifications, I hold a Master's Degree in Educational Program Design and have specialized in numerous population courses on nutrition, wellness, and overall health

How did you get started teaching?

My interest in health and fitness has existed since I was a young girl in school, but grew when my body began to change.  During the awkward stage, I was chubby and my body was resistant to losing the weight.  Through the years, my weight stayed in constant motion - I'd be up 10lbs then down 10lbs.  It was devistating to never find that perfect size.

The by the end of high school I was skinny! Only to gain an enormous amount of weight with my first pregnancy.  I vowed to learn all I could about fitness and nutrition.  It was exciting to learn about the body, how it funtioned and what it needed.  I began working on anatomy and how to mold the structural skeletal muscles.  I felt that the world needed to know what I knew and I began to teach!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with multiple age groups from as young at 12 to as old as 70.  Some of my clients have physical ailments that I need to remain cautious of, while others are die hard cross training/interval fans.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

My advice is to meet your trainer first! You need to "fit" in order to work together.  YOU are paying for a service and deserve to have the one person that can help you obtain your goal.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should ask about knowledge on ailments that can become an issue...for example: I met with a client that had a heart condition but was unaware of the extent of the problem.  I am NOT a medical professional but I do know that certain conditions can be deadly if the wrong fitness program is introduced.  Prior to our fitness consult, I researched what types of exercises are safe for those with heart conditions and then inquired about his specific issue when we met.  I was upfront with him about my lack of experience with this type of condition and that I am willing to help AFTER I get clearance from his doctor.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TELL YOUR TRAINER ANY UNDERLYING ISSUES! Our goal is to help you be the best you possible; but if we don't know, we could hurt you unknowingly!
