With over 30 years of riding experience, I want to introduce students to the joyful lifestyle of horse back riding. From the basics of grooming, tack, proper nutrition, and board. Every horse needs a job and needs to be shown what is expected of them or they will never be able to achieve the goal you have set for them. Not only that but being in sync with your horse and at peace and not afraid will make for an enjoyable partnership and years of happy experiences. When you have completed the lesson plan we have made for you and your horse specifically, you both should walk away with confidence that you both know your job,respect one another, and unafraid of your future together.
I have always had a love for horses and working with them on a daily basis is a dream come true. There’s nothing I’d rather do more. I want to see the light up in every persons eye when they “ get it” and the name of every horse when they feel safe with their rider that’s what it’s all about.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start out with a group meeting myself and staff along with the potential student ( if under 18 guardian must be present) and whomever they wish to attend. During the meeting we will discuss the students desired goals and do a customized lesson plan for that person. No two people have the same goals or work ethic so I customize my teaching to meet realistic goals set. The first 4 hours of lessons will be nothing but the basics, that is from beginner to professional if you have never been in the horsing around program it is a requirement before being able to throw a leg over one of my personal horses. The basics are general grooming, nutrition, first aide, hoof care, tack and tack care, saddling up and most importantly getting to know the horse and being comfortable around them. From there we will follow along with the plan we have determined to best suit the students goals and needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years management and supervision experience along with over 40 years riding and equine experience. I'm also certified in kinesiology and equine instruction and training and trail guide.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is different depending on if the student has a horse, if I travel to them with or without a horse or if they travel to me with or without a horse. I also do family package plans so pricing is different. I will however give an example. If the student comes to my facility, uses my horse for the lesson and is a beginner then it will cost $50 an hour up to 2 hours. $25 every hour after if same day. By thst I mean I hold a class the first Saturday of every month specifically to do the 4 hour basic lesson if you choose to do that at one class ( most students that are on an advanced beginner level or above but this is the first time at horsing around prefer this class), or if you want longer sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
My daughter's best friend, her mother asked if I would teach her how to ride so they could do it together. So it began as one of my child's friends and turned into about 25 that I would do after work or weekends then it just grew from that and now this is my full time job
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students aged 2 to 75, disabled, veterans, you put forth the effort to learn and willingness to want a partnership with your horse then I will teach you how to be in unison.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take your time don't rush into anything and find an instructor that fits your goals that you are comfortable with
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) Am I willing to put in the time required to be a good rider and take care of my horse?
2) Are you willing to put your horses needs before your own
3) can you physically take care of your horse and can you physically ride your horse
4) what are your goals as far as where do you want to be with your lessons a month from now, 6 months from now and a year from now
