About
I loved horses all my life, but did not have a chance to get involved till I rescued a horse in 2008. Since then I've been on an amazing journery of discovery in working with, caring for, and competing with horses. I want to share this passion and help others to get started or help make riding a positive experience for them and your horse.
I've competed up to USEA Novice (2'11") and placed 6th in my masters class nationally in recognized competition. I have trained to 3'3" and through the sport of Eventing learned dressage, stadium jumping, and cross country jumping. In addition I've been involved in Hunter Pace events, obstacle events, have done trail riding up to intermediate level trails.
My foundation is based in English riding, but I am happy to help riders in any disipline with efforts to build connections with an equine partner.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I get a new student the first thing I do is talk. Are they brand new to riding or do they have experience. This way I can start to tailor lessons to their experience. After that I'll also ask them their goals and desires in riding.
If it is a new to riding student we will work on the basics of horse care, awareness, and ground handling. My intent is to make them comfortable being around a horse and learning how to ask the horse to perform a task. When they are ready I get them in the saddle and start the basics of riding.
With a current rider, based on their experience, desires, and/or issues, I'll start to not only work on key factors towards their goals, but help them find a deeper connection and partnership with their horse.
Though my primary career is centered in the IT world, the attention to detail I've learned throughout my work helps me to organize and adapt a lesson to a person and a day. I've also taught in my past and have been involved in Toast Masters which has helped in communications.
Most important is that I bring a love and passion for horses and a desire to help people enjoy riding that I feel translates into successful moments.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked with ICP USEA Trainers and have been mentored by 4* Eventing professionals.
