About
I have a strong understanding of the golf swing and tailor my approach to how the student likes to learn. Some prefer a feel based approach, where others prefer technical. I try to take each players individuals starting point and develop a plan from there.
It thrills me to see the look on a students face after correcting their problems or hitting shots they have never been able to hit before. At this stage in my life, I get more satisfaction out of helping others succeed than my own personal success.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I base my teaching on where the student is along their golf journey. All players come in at different levels. I will spend the first minutes of every lesson discussing the students history, goals, and ideas of what success will look like for them. Using that information, I will develop an individualized approach for each student.
I use the On Form app in every lesson to video swings to show players what they are doing and how they can improve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a Physical Education and Health major in college and taught school and coached basketball, football, tennis, and golf in my 11 years in education. I also have coached church league recreation teams for many years.
I have been playing golf for 35 years and have spent countless hours studying and analyzing the golf swing throughout those years. Within the last 10 years I have really dived into more detail regarding video swing analysis and have a working knowledge of trackman numbers. I will incorporate video in every lesson for instant feedback.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My minimum fee is $50 an hour. Prices are negotiable based on number of lessons desired, etc. I will offer a discount for group lessons or multiple lessons paid in advance. Students pay for their own range balls.
NO FEE GUARANTEE! If for any reason, after your first lesson, you are dissatisfied with the lesson, that lesson is free and we will go our separate ways.
How did you get started teaching?
I have taught skills in other sports all my life, but have always had a passion for golf. Only within the last few years have I spent the time required to grow my confidence in my knowledge of the game to the point it is now. I believe I can help brand new beginners as well as others who are more experienced.
What types of students have you worked with?
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a student struggling with a certain issue on the swing. After a few minutes working to correct the issue, he added 40 yards of distance and he went nuts! These instances are extremely rewarding for me!
Just this week I made an adjustment in grip and swing direction for a student and he gained close to 50 yards on his driver (235 to 283 yds).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Knowledge and experience are great! Also important is communication style and relatability. If the person you are working with cannot "speak your language" in the way you need it to be spoken, move on.
I use video on every lesson to help the student see what they are doing and how to correct things. I feel like video is an important tool to use since the technology is available and extremely helpful.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their goals are for golf? How much time and effort are they willing to put in to be better? Can I commit to following the plan based on the teachers advice even if it feels weird or different? If not, you may be wasting your time and money.
