Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I receive a new student I want to understand what their needs are and how they want to improve. I then evaulate what the state of their game is and how their body is built and moves. Golf isn't a sport that you can force someone to make a swing their body won't allow. After that I try to find the most effective way to communicate the golf swing so that the student has a full understanding of what is happening.

How did you get started teaching?
I helped my instructor operate a few junior clinics and saw how much fun it was and decided it was a career I wanted to pursue. I had a natural eye to spot the flaws in the swing and was able to help friends throughout college. Then after 2 years as an Assistant Professional I had to leave the golf shop to continue to build my business. Now my sole profession is teaching golf.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to shop around and experiment with different instructors to make sure you find one that communicates with you and can give you results on the first day.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do a self analysis about what happens in your round. How many fairways do you miss, balls hit out of play, greens hit in regulation, up and downs, putts, etc.
