I grew up in an artistic household with my father being a full time artist. I witnessed his journey from small town arts and craft shows to major museum exhibitions and someone of national recognition. I started my business here conducting wine & paint classes at the Fairfield Glade Community Center about 3 years ago. I worked in the Arts & Crafts department under Then director Sandy Bame. The classes were super successful and we had good turnout. I also taught drawing classes that were successful. I charge $35. An hour plus gas. I prefer classes of 8 or more and have equipment and paint for two hour classes. I could do single students given good and safe information. Mary Gwyn’s Art
At this point I have been teaching painting and drawing classes, mainly botanical watercolor, for a little over ten years. My specialty is nature, birds and plants primarily though I do some landscape as well. I paint in watercolor, oil, pastel but do quite a bit of pencil and ink drawing too. Silverpoint is a drawing technique I have taught occasionally.
