looking for working students..... if you live close then it can offset the costs!
I love helping the rider communicate with the horse without force, but by using proper technique and positioning. Helping the rider understand the benefits of the proper position and why it is done this way! The slower but truer methods, the classical dressage approach. I have been riding since I was 4 yo and competed ever since in the Mid South region... I am currently 50yo and have worked with many breeds and willing to work with them all. Happy Horsing!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Have a short question answer period to have a better understanding of where the horse and rider are currently and a better understanding of where they want to progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I gained most of my training through private lessons and the Pony Club. My primary instructors were Judith Sikes, Jane Pugh, Colonel Charles E. Murphy, David Q.Wright, Raul De Leon, Bill and Lori Hoos, Tami Crawford, Jim Graham, Kim Walnes. I keep in touch with most of them still.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Locally the price is a flat $ 50 to travel if within 50 miles
teaching at shows is a a flat $200 for the day.....the more students at the show helps offset cost
will make special concessions for each individual and situation
looking for working students..... this can offset cost!
How did you get started teaching?
I began leadline teaching on the back of a pony at the ripe age of 9 years old. My techniques grew and so did my knowledge of the untrained pony and horse. I trained all of my horses during my competitive career, because I could not afford the well trained horse. I enjoy the training of horse and rider and encourage my riders to pursue their goals.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked mostly with children through young adults. But enjoy the older rider, because I am becoming one myself!
The older rider is more understanding of the concept but I also give exercises you can use before you get on your horse. Yoga is great for the older rider..... lots of stretching also aids a better and stronger position.....
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love when you're teaching in a lesson and the light bulb goes off in the riders head and the ahah moment occurs. The smile on the face of the rider is worth millions!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Many instructors do not travel , so it is more like a travel to a clinic type atmosphere and prices can be high for the most notable ones.
