I am an older middle-aged individual who recently took an interest in wanting to learn how to play a guitar. Attempting to learn on my own at my age is very limiting. However, finding an instructor who understands age as it relates to effective learning is also very challenging. Fortunately I was referred to Erik. He not only has decades of guitar playing and teaching experience, but he understands how to assess a student's learning ability and subsequently build a teaching methodology geared for that student. In other words, he uses a "student first" approach: listen to and understand what the student's particular guitar interests and abilities are.
