About
I do not drag out the lessons. My goal is that after 5 lessons a beginning level student is ready to play. Golfers already with a swing that they want to improve plan of attack varies. Most often instruction is a first step whether individually, with a friend, or as a family. Mentoring the student to the course is just as important as a lesson of the swing. I have taught all levels and am more than willing to help the student with club fitting and purchase if needed.
I have been blessed to have many accomplished students. I love seeing the students attain the swing and understanding there of, you might say the "aha" moments of learning the game of golf!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Give them an overview of the how the swing works while demonstrating the swing. I want them to leave with a picture of the motion they will be learning called the golf swing. At that first lesson we work on the grip, stance, and posture better know as the set up. I also use what I call "feel drills" so that they can feel the swing and their muscle memory knows what to look for. Golf is learned in a process and you have to assess what the student is digesting and build confidence and retention.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught golf lesson since 1986 when I joined the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals. For many years taught 60 lessson a week. I am a mother and my children were pursuing interest which did not work well with the time my clientele could take lessons so I took employment that worked for the families needs. I understand the game not just the swing. I played D1 in the 80's and qualified my senior year of college as an amateur to play in an LPGA event. I have always been a long ball hitter but my study of the game after college made my short game as profiecient as my long game. I was a feel player in college but broke down the swing to become a teacher and made my swing repairable during competition and not based on feel. When I taught full time I never had to advertise but was busy because of previous students recommendation and success.I am rebuidling my business due to relocation.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If the teacher does not demonstrate with a club what they are asking you to learn then stay clear. The teacher should have an organized plan and the student should have a clear understanding of what and how to practice after the lesson. If you don't understand after the lesson that is not you fault it is the teachers!
