How much do classical guitar lessons cost near me?
Most classical guitar lessons cost$35 to $70 per session for durations of 30 to 60 minutes. One-on-one lessons typically cost between $45 and $70 per hour, whereas group sessions are a more affordable option at $25 to $35 per class.

Why should I take classical guitar lessons?
You should take classical guitar lessons if you have an acoustic guitar and want to learn how to play classical concertos or Spanish-style music with fingerpicking.
Classical guitar lessons teach you how to:
Use nylon-string guitars and strum with the fingers instead of a pick
Develop your fingers to focus on complex fingerpicking techniques
Understand classical music theory and sight-reading
At what age should I start classical guitar lessons?
Children generally begin their classical guitar journey between the ages of 6 to 10, or as soon as they can hold the instrument well with enough hand strength to press the strings. Adults of all ages can master the instrument with the correct guidance and consistent practice.
How many classical guitar lessons do I need?
The number of weekly classical guitar lessons you need will depend on your personal goals and dedication to practice. A beginner might grasp a simple song within 2 to 6 months, but acquiring proficiency like a professional requires 4 to 10 years on average.
How do I find the best classical guitar lessons near me?
You can find proficient classical guitar tutors nearby by looking at the listings here on the Lessons platform. Sometimes teachers ara available through local music stores too.
Before hiring your tutor, always:
Obtain quotes from a minimum of 3 teachers and clarify what they teach.
Review feedback about them on Google and the Lessons site.
Request a reference list of their past students.
Ask fellow parents about their children's experiences with the tutor.
Secure a written agreement and schedule prior to the first session.

I've been a student for a few years now and my guitar playing has improved tremendously. Before lessons, I touched my guitar once in a blue moon. Now I get restless if I go a few days without playing. I have learned a lot about the fretboard and music theory, which has given me the confidence to not only learn more songs, but try things beyond what's written in the tabs, as well as learn songs by ear and try out improvising and soloing. It's clear that Ryan is passionate about teaching guitar, and I appreciate that he encourages me to step out of my comfort zone. I recommend taking lessons if you want to hold yourself accountable and gain a deeper understanding of guitar.

My two sons took piano and guitar lessons from Mobile Music Academy over a period of eight years. During this time the teachers cultivated interest and willingness to work in my students. We took lessons this long because the boys wanted to keep doing so which told me that this was a good use of our resources. That the teacher would come to us made it so much easier to manage. Neither boy is a concert pianist or the like now, but both know that to succeed one needs to keep on practising. This is the gift of MMA to us. There was nothing in this arrangement that did not work for us.

I am 80 years old. In my life’s journey I have met a few people who stand out as exceptional, in my opinion, and among them at the top of the list is Derwin Hinson. Throughout the first 75 years came my education, meeting my wife, the birth of my children and of course work. During this time I spent all of my spare time that I could afford hunting or fishing all over the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rico, Panama, Caribbean and Hawaii
Then in my seventies my legs wore out and I needed to replace my knees which did not turn out great, then I broke my femur and got arthritis in my feet. In 2014 I was fishing in Florida with a friend of mine and he said to me, John when you get home you need to sell your boat. I realized that he was right and sold my boat.
That is when God put Derwin Hinson in my life. He was working to help this praise band from our church get started and I had the opportunity the sing with them, I believe at that time I was 76 years old. After a few months I thought well it might be nice to try and play the guitar. In all my life I have had not one bit of musical training or talent.
In January of 2015 I bought a guitar and started taking lessons from Derwin. This has gone so well that I don’t even think about fishing or hunting. I have gotten to the point to where I can pick and play a few tunes. His patience is so amazing, I don’t understand how a man with his talent can listen and play with a smile on his face while his students fumble through the chords.
All I know now is that I have a hobby and something to do until I am an old man. I thank God for bringing Derwin into my life and I know that most of his students feel the same

I have played the acoustic guitar for many years. Kendrick has challenged me to play new sounds, and I am currently expanding my guitar vocabulary. If you are looking to amp up your guitar (or piano/ keyboard) musical skills, Kendrick has a wealth of knowledge and skill. He is able to teach the theory of music well and plays with much soul and knowledge combined. Highly recommended.
