SMALLSIDE FARM is a premier training facility in the heart of the metroplex offering year-round english riding lessons for young children (starting at 4 years old) through advanced riders of all ages!
We set goals for both our horses and our riders. For those who are already horse owners we can help you set achievable goals with tangible milestones. For those who do not own a horse yet, we can help you find the perfect teammate that can take you up the ranks.
Private Riding Lessons are half an hour, one-on-one lessons available to beginner or more advanced riders. Beginner students help groom and tack up their horse (5-10min), ride (20min) and untack (5min). Advanced students will groom and tack up their horse themselves and ride for 30 minutes.
Group Riding Lessons are 45 minute lessons available to riders who can tack up on their own, walk/trot and steer. Each lesson is customized to the individual riding level of each rider
We love to see the progress and confidence grow in each rider as they learn to ride and compete on horses!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically we set up an evaluation lesson where we access the previous riding experience a student may have had. From there we place them in group or private lessons!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors Degree in Animal Science Business Option with a minor in Equine Science from Texas Tech University

Evaluation Lesson- $50
Single Lesson 30 min private- $60
Single Lesson 45 min group- $60
Group of 4 (private or group)- $220 ($55/lesson)
Group of 8 (private or group)- $400 ($50/lesson)
Additional Lessons for boarders- $50
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at the farm I grew up riding during their summer camps and eventually throughout the year.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is passionate, kind and most of all puts safety and care of the horse and rider first!
