About
Idylwood Stables offers a fresh approach to English riding, focusing on Horsemanship to learn effective communication with our equine partners.
Idylwood takes riders from the very first time they mount a horse all the way to independence. We pride ourselves on producing a complete horse person, not just one who can ride a well-behaved horse.
Horseback riding is more than just a sport! Recent research shows that the effects of vibrations produced by horses during horse-riding lead to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which improves learning in children. And the equine-human bond is undeniable.
For me, experiencing the growth of the each individual as they come to this unique sport is both inspiring and intrinsically rewarding. I consider it an honor to be a participant in their journeys.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New riders will start in private lessons or small group lessons, mastering the basics in a fun and safe environment.
We teach everyone from pre-schoolers and seniors just learning to ride to those ready for competition.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Trainer Sydney Kornman grew up on a working farm and has ridden since early childhood. She trained on three continents before settling in Texas, bringing with her the best practices of different cultures. Her own method emphasizes confidence building in both horse and rider through a carefully designed curriculum tailored to each individual- human and equine.
