Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always like to talk with the student first and see what their goals and aspirations they would like to accomplish in their riding career .
I then set certain small steps we need to work on with the rider and the horse to reach their goals. I explain the steps and practice we need to do in order for them to get to the desire goal they want to attain in their riding . I will work with them for at least 45 minutes to an hour to obtain improvement in the area we are working on in the lesson. I will continue the lesson if we need more time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained students and horses for 25 years to the highest standards of National and Premier AA horse shows in all divisions including Green to rated hunters . USHJA National and International Derbies .
I have competed in Meter jumper classes with young jumpers up to National Grand Prixs 1.45-50 competitions .Imported successful hunters/jumpers and recently received my USEF "r" judging license.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. I do charge a traveling fee depending on mileage to the farm. I charge 100.00 for a private and can do a package for more lessons and group lessons. Pricing upon request .
I can be available for coaching at local and Texas Horse Shows. Pricing can be discussed with a client prior to horse showing.
Also available for clinics .

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I ask my students what there goals with their riding and the horse they own.
Students can think about what they need improvement and also their horse.
They can ask ,what an instructor may do ( exercises, practice and to improve .
