Learn Golf With Ian
About
Golf lessons for beginning level golfers. Focus is on fundamentals (grip, stance, swing technique) and psychological aspects of the game. I'm relatively new to golf and have read the PGA Teaching Manual. Worked as the Director of Outside Services and Assistant Golf Pro at Falconhead Golf Club.
I really enjoy getting someone from barely being able to make contact with the ball, to being able to play a round on the course in a few weeks. Helping others unlock their maximum potential really brings me joy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I normally ask them ahead of time what they feel they need the most work on, then in person, have them hit a few balls to see exactly where they're at fundamentally, then develop some techniques and drills for them. I also provide video analysis & send the videos via text so that you can watch and practice on their own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I shadowed a few PGA certified trainers during their lessons and PDI sessions.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge a flat rate of $40/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always been very analytical & a great observer. Working at a golf course and studying the PGA Teaching Manual for my own golf game made me realize that I could help others with this knowledge more so then I could help myself, so I started offering free lessons at the golf course. When I realized I could "fix" issues golfers were having, I decided to start teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
At this point I have only worked with beginners and high handicap golfers.
