About
There are two golf swings: Classic and Modern. If you are looking a swing that produces extremely consistent ball flight that will not cause injury, you are looking for the Classic Swing. Don't get me wrong, we will train for max distance, shot shaping, ball flight control, excellent short game and putting. But I will show you how to do all those without over torquing your back. This is the swing Vardon, Melhhorn, Snead, Hogan, etc used.
Keep in mind as you continue to read this page and explores more about the Classic Swing, that most of my clients are not local do their sessions via Zoom. I love working in person with clients as often as possible, but it is not a requirement to learn the Classic Swing. I train clients both online and in person. And I train clients both indoors and on the range. Even when the weather is bad or cold, we can work indoors. Now back to the Classic Swing...
The current teaching employs too many details and is trying to get an amateur to swing like a pro using a modern swing. The modern swing puts a tremendous amount of stress on the back, just ask those pros who we all know have back problems, and has to be timed just right. You need a massive amount of range time before a round to lock in your timing for the day - watch the pros get ready for a tournament.
Imagine a swing that you could put away for 6 weeks, go the range before a round and hit about 12 balls and be ready to play again. That is the Classic Swing.
I teach a complete program. I am interested in working with golfers, especially new or low time golfers, who want to have control over their entire game including course management and their mental game. To be clear, I work with people at any level as long as they are interested in the Classic Swing - again, think Snead, Hogan, Mehlhorn, Vardon.
If you are wondering what this teaching is like, please contact me to schedule a lesson to see - no pressure to continue if it is not for you. And I will give you some information here about it.
This method of teaching uses large movements to develop the feel for how each part of your body needs to function in the golf swing. There is a lot of focus on combining these feelings into a complete swing. These movements, drills if you will, are over 100 years old. And believe me, those guys knew what they were doing.
What there is not; positions, several swing thoughts, multiple body positions, etc.
Once you learn the feel of the classic swing and see the resulting ball flight, I guarantee you will wonder why you ever swung a club any other way.
My purpose in life is teaching in a way that will enhance the quality of life of my client. That is my reward. It would be a privilege to work with you and help to bring more confidence and enjoyment to your game.
