About
I am a certified horsemanship instructor qualified at CSU who has been teaching youth & adult recreational & show riding ACCIDENT FREE for over 20 years! I teach English & Western disciplines. Beginners are my specialty - I teach ages 4 & up. We provide the highest quality of lesson & show horses for use & lease in showing. Our emphasis is on
1) safety
2) education
3) fun
We try to attend competitions monthly with our students. Providing students with skilled pattern work promoted the creation and development of life long skills such as- independence, listening, planning, putting your best foot forward, execution of plans as developed, sportsmanship, responsibility and much much more. If you want us to babysit your child on horseback we are probably not your “guy” - if you want competent happy, skilled horseback riders call us today 903-815-2042. We do offer school break /Christmas/ summer & other specials throughout the year. The majority of our work is private & we have limited show team spaces. We look forward to hearing from you! Although we are not a therapy farm we have taught a significant number of riders with disabilities & have hailed them successfully for showing as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lesson is private discovery to determine the rider’s level of experience, knowledge & to discuss a plan for needs / wants / desires/ ambitions; then to make plans forward for continuing lessons and or show team participation. Student will prepare horse for riding / ride for & under the direction of the instructor on a gentle skilled lesson horse / untack & groom horse when finished. Student has very open opportunity for questions / learning & assessment of instructor abilities.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Interview the instructor regarding qualifications for teaching & ask for references from former student & take a “try each other on” lesson to see how personalities fit together to promote good learning!
