My name is Matthew Velilla, I am a Tuba Performance and Music Education Major at UNT. I have played my instrument for 10 years. I have performed and worked with multiple ensembles within the college of music, have performed publically and privately over the past 10 years. I am a conductor and a composer. I focus and encourage not just on the production of good musicians but how music can make better members of society. Music reveals things about ourselves that are necessary to explore and celebrate.

After receiving DMA at University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Chen had been served as Assistant Professor at university for 17 yeas, including the chairman of the music department for 6 years. As a music performer and educator, he designs classes for young kids to adults with easy, fun and effective way to learn music. He is a friendly person. All the kids like him very much.
