There is no shortage of golf instruction or indoor facilities throughout the DFW metro-plex. We believe the over all vibe of our facility mixed with our approach to coaching is what sets us apart. One of the things that makes us most proud is the positive feedback we receive when people enter the space; it matches what we hoped to achieve and brings a smile to our face every time. The thing we are most excited about is actually pretty simple; knowing we have a place of our own where we can do what we love. The three of us (Chaz Edwards, Kunio Kasuga, Dustin Holcomb) have over 60 years of experience in the golf industry. As anyone who has ever been or currently is in the golf industry can tell you, it is not a glamorous or easy road; it is certainly one where you spend your career hoping that “paying your dues” will pay off one day. There are numerous lessons we have learned along the way but one stands out, nothing worth having or doing is ever going to be easy. Count your blessings along the way, treat others with respect, have a deep belief in what you are doing and go after what you want with everything you have. As far as what we would like people to know about our brand and story goes, you will be hard-pressed to find people who care more about their students and have a love for what we do. We are so excited to share our passion with anyone who comes to Direct Impact Golf.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every new student goes through a Welcome Session. During this time, we will discuss your experience and goals. We will also go through a brief movement screen and discuss any physical limitations and previous injuries to ensure we are not working on something that would result in further discomfort. We promise you will leave with a better understanding of your game, better ball flight, and a game plan for improvement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an PGA Class A Professional. I graduated from New Mexico State University in the PGA Golf Management Program. I was an instructor at Brookhaven Country Club (Dallas, TX) for 4 years and I was the Director of Instruction at The Clubs of Prestonwood (Dallas, TX / Plano, TX) for 6 years. Certifications include: US Kids Certified Coach, Trackman Certified Instructor, Vector Putting Certified Instructor, Positive Coaching Alliance Certified Coach, and Scott Cowx Certified Instructor.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always loved solving puzzles and the golf swing is the ultimate puzzle because it is never the same. I went to New Mexico State University for their top ranked PGA Golf Management Program and started teaching full-time at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, TX right out of school for 4 1/2 years. I was then the Director of Instruction at Prestonwood Country Club for 6 years after that. It is pretty cool to have my own facility and be able to help people year round, no matter the weather.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everyone! Complete beginners, ladies, juniors, high school, high handicappers, scratch, collegiate, LPGA, Korn Ferry, and everything in between!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You typically get what you pay for and there is no such thing as a quick or easy fix. If you want to learn, find someone who is willing to get to know you and truly guide you through your golf journey.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? What is your time frame for those goals? How often are you going to be able to practice? How often are you going to be able to see your instructor?
