About

Horsemanship goes beyond the saddle. I teach them not only how to ride in the arena, but how to ride safely on roads, in traffic, parades, on the beach, on the trail, at home, etc. I place a great priority on my students learning how to safely and effectively feed and care for a horse, as well as all of of the ins and outs of what it's like to own a horse. Above everything else, I encourage learning the skill of bonding with any horse, as you see the best results in the saddle from work that is built around trust and starts from the ground up. Learn how to be a true horseman with RMP Horsemanship. It's never too early or too late to start an experience of a lifetime!

The biggest part of my program I enjoy is getting to see my students build the confidence to become amazing riders and "horse people". It also makes my heart super happy to see the smiles brought to my students & their families faces by the horses. I live for & love sharing my passion with others!

Frequently asked questions

New students are taught from the ground up, how to care for, groom, ride, & bond with any horse. We always start off with safety guidelines, safe horse handling, grooming 101, & care 101, as well as the basics of horse behavior based off of equine behavioral science & natural horsemanship methods. Horses communicate using body language & you'd be surprised how much a horse can tell you if you know how to read them!

Rachael is a CHA certified horseback riding instructor certified to teach both English & Western disciplines. She has been in the world of riding and training horses for over 20 years. Starting as a student practicing the Hunter Jumper discipline, Rachael competed in the GHHJA horse show circuit (Greater Houston Hunter Jumper Association). She went on to be trained in dressage, natural horsemanship, and barrel racing in the following years. As a child she taught herself to safely ride the trail and the roads, as well as along the beach and in water. Today her main focus is natural horsemanship, focusing on building a lasting bond built on trust between horse and rider, free riding, and barrel racing.

The horses finally have their own pasture to call home! We are in the process of clearing & building on our 7 acre farm to turn it into an equestrian facility that offers a non profit equine assisted therapy program for individuals & families in need. We will offer regular equine assisted therapy for those with health insurance coverage, as well as our original traditional riding lessons or riding lessons to prepare the rider to ride at a competitive level.

Research your instructor. Ask if they have a certification. Some states require an instructor to be certified by law. Texas does not. But you're much safer learning with a certified instructor vs an instructor who is not certified because to pass the certification tests, you have to be in compliance with a lot of safety guidelines! There are over 75,000 equestrian accidents a year requiring a hospital visit. Most of them happen on the ground, not while riding! A good instructor will further their education & get certified or have a goal to become certified (it's expensive!) to help lessen the risk to their students & horses of accidents happening.  Ask if they have insurance! Ask for references or reviews. Safety comes first. A huge red flag for a dangerously operated riding program is one where the instructor does not use insurance, liability waivers, helmets, or proper attire for their student riders (I.e allowing riders to ride in tennis shoes instead of boots)
