Bar Rose Performance Horses
About
My name is Erica and I have rode, owned, rescue, and rehabilitate horses for 34 years and a professional in the equine industry since 2016.
My program is very hands on and in depth. Students, of all ages, learn the basics of riding into advanced riding skills. I also teach horsemanship, stewardship, and ownership classes. All students are taught to ride independently without being on a lunge or long line.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our typical process is to first meet in person, discuss what are YOUR goals, how the program works, meet the lesson horses to see who will work with you, and then the fun begins.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Please ask
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching because I had people keep asking me if I would teach them to ride. I, at first didn't want to and would refuse, then I met a person who had no confidence from a horrific riding accident. When I was 13 I was in a horse back accident as well while I was out roping, so this person spoke to me. I helped that person build their confidence back up and freely ride again. Ever since then I have been teaching others to ride. From trail riding to roping to barrel racing. I love how students look and feel once they start riding and realize they can ride and enjoy their time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students that were terrified of horses and now they are horse owners whom love riding. Most of my students are between 7 and 67 years old. I've worked with atudents who are have had their confidence dragged threw the dirt, literally and figuratively, students that have had horrible accidents on horse back, students who knew absolutely nothing about horses nor riding, to everyone in between.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for a teacher who teaches in my area of expertise I would recommend looking for one who makes you comfortable, answers all your questions, and that is honest. If and when you have a fear or fears express this/ those to your teacher, if they show little to no compassion about it look for another instructor
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before deciding to talk to a teacher ask:
1. Do you have the time to take lessons on a regular basis?
2. If you have fears express this/these to your teacher upfront.
3. What are your goals exactly?
4. Are you ready?
