Introducing children and adults to the wonderful world of horses is a long time passion of mine. Horses teach us the important lessons of empathy, paitence, sportsmanship and responsibility. For trainer Anne Hedge, correct Horsemanship is the basis for everything moving forward. Saftety for rider and horse are #1 priorities. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We schedule a private evaluation lesson to talk to the student and parent about past experience and future goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
USHJA Certified Instructor, over 20 years experience in the hunter jumper industury.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
One lesson a week per month $250
2 lessons a week per month $500 (2 lessons a week minimum in order to jump)
3 lessons a week per month $750
Individual lessons outside of a package $85/ lesson.
Full Stall Board $850
Pasture board (when available) $400-$650
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching since I was a junior rider, helping out at summer camps and lessons at my barn. I have always loved teaching, starting everyone with good safe horsemanship first and foremost!
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages from 2- 70!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We also support the local equine community by hosting horse shows, clinics and educational events here at the farm.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The health and saftey of horses and riders should be the first priority. Check out how their horses cared for (both show and lesson horses) Do they offer competition and educational events regularly for their own clients and outside the farm?
