Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Your first lesson at In The Irons will be a Private Evaluation Lesson. This lesson is an opportunity to introduce you to our program and allow your instructor to assess your current skill level. Afterward, the instructor will discuss your goals in order to develop a program to best suit your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a horse trainer/riding instructor for 19 years. I've taught hundreds of beginners to ride and have a dressage show team who compete at the local, regional and national levels.
Our head hunter/jumper instructor, Carissa Moore, has a degree in horse management and rode on an NAACP Equestrian Team in college. She has taken students to Pony Finals and has taken her IEA Team to regionals twice since starting the team 2 years ago.
All In The Irons instructors are well qualified and have an excellent repoire with their students. We believe all experiences should be positive and we teach the students to always put the horse's welfare, health and mental well-being above all.
