Shawn Chamrad grew up with horses as a passion from childhood.
Shawn started riding at age 10. She loved teaching and coaching had a long career showing and she still competes and had top placings and year end awards.
Shawn grew up showing quarter horses in Rio Grande Valley at the Sherrif Posse Arena in Edinburg. She went on to winnings in TYRA (Texas Youth Rodeo Association, THSRA (Texas High School Rodeo Association) and CPRA (Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association)
Shawn has taught numerous students over the years.
She takes great pride in their care and training of their horses and riders. The welfare of the horse is first priority, along with safety and a family atmosphere for her clients.
Shawn continues to compete at local barrel races, she still trains students and goes to the horse shows.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know my students and let them get to know our horses.
There are levels l, ll, and lll
level l - Basics
Grooming, bathing, feeding, cleaning and maintaining horse and stalls. Understanding Tack and importance of its maintenance. Basic walk/trot lead line and small arena work.
level ll
Small arena work walk, trot canter
Basic walk/trot/lope beginning stage of engagement with your horse.
level lll
Maneuver horse through obstacles, learn hand softness and leg pressure and improve upon riding skills
level lV
Ready for a show!

Barrel racing
